Dental Cleanings
Routine dental cleanings are an essential part to oral care. Not only does a professional cleaning remove stains and plaque and fight the bacteria that causes cavities, it is also very important in the prevention of gum disease. We have 2 hygienists on our staff happy to serve patients of all ages and keep you on a routine schedule.
X-Rays
X-rays, or radiographs, help the dental team "see the unseen". X-rays are a type of energy that passes through soft tissues - cheeks, but they are absorbed by more dense tissues - teeth! They allow observation of the tooth and its roots, the bone surrounding the tooth, and see the status of developing teeth in children. They are taken to diagnose cavities and gum disease, but are used for preventative measures as well. X-rays are essential to emergency dental appointments and taken once yearly during routine cleaning appointments. Fillings
Fillings treat cavities; when a tooth has decay, Dr. Wilcox will remove the decay and "fill" the area that the decay once lived. Fillings are made of composite material that is tooth-colored. Fillings can also be used to repair chipped or broken teeth, as well as teeth worn from misuse such as grinding.
Bridges
There are a variety of different bridges. Consulting with the dentist is necessary for deciding which option fits your particular circumstance. The most commonly used bridge is the porcelain fixed bridge, because it resembles your natural teeth. This type of bridge consists of two different crowns that are placed on two anchoring teeth (abutment teeth). The crowns are attached to the pontics (artificial teeth), that fill the gap created by one or more missing teeth.
Crowns
A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface, restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.
Root Canals
Root canal therapy becomes necessary when the inner nerve of a tooth becomes affected by decay or infection. When this happens, the tooth may become extremely sensitive to both pressure and temperature, and intense pain can be expected. In the initial stages of decay and infection, it is possible that no symptoms would be present. However, in the advanced stages of decay and infection an abscess (pimple-like inflammation on the gums) will form.
Implants
Dental implants can be an important part of fixing your teeth and can be used in solutions for replacing single or multiple missing teeth. Dental implants are made to give you the strength, stability, resilience and support that your natural teeth do. Implants can also be used to stabilize your existing dentures.
We offer 2 kinds of implants: Thommen Implants or Mini Dental Implants (MDI).

Dentures and Partials
A denture is a removable dental appliance created to fill the spaces left by missing teeth and surrounding tissue. Dentures, when used, are an important part of keeping the teeth and mouth fully functional when one or more teeth are missing.
Sealants
A sealant is a hard dental material that is usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. Dental sealants act as a barrier, protecting the teeth against decay-causing bacteria like plaque and acids. The sealants that we make are very easy to apply.
Fluoride
Fluoride is a natural mineral that is found in most foods and water. Fluoride, for over fifty years, has been proven to help fight and even reverse the process of tooth decay caused by acids, plaque and bacteria that regularly are hurting your tooth enamel.
Veneers
Veneers are a cosmetic addition to a smile and mouth. They are made specifically to help your smile look its best. Veneers are made of porcelain, and they are shaped and custom-made in a dental laboratory. When porcelain veneers are bonded to your teeth, they can make your smile beautiful and flawless.
Whitening (Take Home)
The color of your teeth can affect the confidence you have about your smile. Although it is not permanent, tooth whitening (bleaching) is a simple dental treatment used to change the color of your teeth.
